Renal Artery Stenosis
Renal artery stenosis (RAS) is narrowing of the arteries that deliver blood to one or both of the kidneys (renal arteries).
There are 2 renal arteries, one for each kidney.
If one or both of the arteries become narrowed, the symptoms below may be present.
Renal Artery Stenosis Symptoms
Symptoms of renal artery stenosis may include:
High blood pressure (hypertension)
May be hard to control
Protein in the urine (proteinuria)
Swelling (edema)
Decreased urine output
Fatigue
Worsening kidney function
Along with the effects of acute kidney injury (AKI) and/or chronic kidney disease (CKD)
Electrolyte abnormalities, volume overload, uremia, etc.
